Michigan City sits on the Lake Michigan shore about 40 minutes west of South Bend, with the lighthouse, Washington Park beach, and a downtown that has been steadily coming back. The housing runs from the historic Elston Grove district and early 1900s homes near downtown to mid-century neighborhoods farther south and the beach homes and cottages along the lakeshore toward Long Beach and Sheridan Beach.

Do you charge extra to come out to Michigan City?
No. Michigan City and the LaPorte County lakeshore are part of our regular service area, and our crews work there often. Estimates are free and there is no travel charge.
When should I schedule an exterior repaint in Michigan City?
Exterior paint needs surface and air temperatures above 50°F to cure, so the season in northern Indiana runs from about May through October. Spring fills up first. If you want a summer date, reach out in late winter or early spring. Interior work is scheduled year-round.
How long does exterior paint last on a lakeshore home?
Less than inland. Wind, sand, and moisture off the lake wear the lake-facing side first, so a beach home may need attention on that side a few years sooner than the rest. Thorough prep, a flexible 100% acrylic coating, and a light color on the exposed walls all stretch the interval.
My home was built before 1978. Does that change anything?
It can. Older homes in Michigan City may have layers of lead-based paint under the surface. Tell us the age of your home when you request an estimate and we will walk you through how we handle prep on older homes so dust and chips are contained.
Do you paint condos and vacation rentals?
Yes. We paint individual units, common areas, and balconies in lakeshore condo buildings and turn over vacation rentals between seasons. We coordinate access and color approvals with your association or property manager.
